Sang-Ki PARK, Ph.D
Co-chair of Steering Committee, Virtual Forum against Cybercrime
President of Korean Institute of Criminology
Professor of College of Law, Yonsei University, Korea

Dr. Sang-ki Park, Professor of College of Law at Yonsei University in Korea since 1987, has also served as President of the Korean Institute of Criminology since November 2007. He holds a Dr.jur in Criminal Law with the dissertation titled『Die Nachtragliche Tatbeteiligung (1986)』from University of Göttingen, Germany. Dr. Sang-ki Park was a member of the Policy Planning Committee under the Ministry of Justice (2003 ~ 2004) and a member of Innovation and Reformation Advisory Committee in Prosecutors' Office (2003 ~ 2005). He also served as Chair of Board of Directors of Dongduk Women's University (2004 ~ 2007). He was inaugurated as President of the Korean Association of Criminology and the Korean Criminal Law Association in 2004 and 2005, respectively. His main publications are: Introduction to the Criminal Law, 7th Edition (2007); Introduction to the Law (1995); The Criminal Law Reform in Korea (1993) and etc.


 
Joon Oh Jang, Ph.D

Dr. Joon Oh Jang holds a Ph.D. and Master degree in Sociology at the University of Kansas, USA and B.A. degree in Sociology at Sungkyunkwan University in Korea. Prior to being recruited by KIC, he was a senior researcher at the Social Research Center of the Sungkyunkwan University, conducting research of foreign illegal workers. In KIC, he was in charge of organizing the 12th International Congress on Criminology (1996-1998) and had taken several Director positions. He has been Adviser of the Financial Intelligence Unit of the Ministry of Finance and Economy in Korea since 2001. He has been a vice president of Korean Society of Criminology from 2006 to 2008. Dr. Jang is also an adjunct professor at Yonsei University in Korea. His major publications are: Juvenile Delinquency in Cyber Space (2004); Human Trafficking for Sexual Exploitation between Korea and USA (2009); Elderly Crime and its Victimization (2008); Workplace Theft in Korea (2007); International Cooperation among Northeast Asian Countries to Fight against Transnational Organized Crime (2007); Victimization of North Korean Defectors living in South Korea (2006); Establishment of a Joint Organization on Crime Control for the Security of Northeast Asia (2006); Current Situation of Illegal Migrants between Korea and China and its Countermeasures (2005); and Types of money laundering for international illegal funds and its measures (2001).


 
 
Roderic BROADHURST, Ph.D

Professor Broadhurst holds a Ph.D from the Faculty of Law, University of Western Australia and a M.Phil from the Institute of Criminology, University of Cambridge. He has been a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Criminology since 1982 and served on the executive committee(1990-1994) and as an associate editor of the society journal (1999-2005). He has also been secretary and chair of the Hong Kong Society of Criminology (1995-2006), Honorary Professor at the University of Hong Kong (2005-2008) and external adviser City University of Hong Kong (2006-2009). He was the founding editor of the Asian Journal of Criminology and serves on the board of the Asia-Pacific Social Science Review, International Journal of Cyber Criminology and the International Journal of Security and Terrorism. He was Head of School of Justice QUT(2005-2008), Associate Professor, University of Hong Kong (1994-2005), Senior Research Fellow, Crime Research Centre, UWA (1990-1994) and held posts in corrections and public health. He is Honourary Professor of the Key Centre for Ethic, Law, Justice and Governance, Griffith University and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Criminology.


 
 
Nigel JONES
Chair of ICG on Training, Virtual Forum against Cybercrime
Adjunct Professor on Cybercrime, University College Dublin, Ireland

Mr. Jones created the National Cybercrime Training Centre in UK and delivered a core curriculum and a modular training programme for the UK police service. He has wide ranging experience in fraud and computer crime investigation and represented UK on the G8 sub group on cybercrime. He formed the Kent Police Computer Crime Unit and is co-author of the ACPO "Computer Based Evidence - Good Practice Guide" He has presented at numerous international events including preparing and moderating a hi-tech crime scenario at the 10th UN Crime Congress. From 2001 he worked on European Commission, which funded programmes to develop Cybercrime training for EU and candidate countries. In January 2005 he was elected as Chair of Interpol's European Working Party on IT Crime and is a special advisor to Europol on cybercrime training. Mr. Jones was honoured with an MBE for outstanding public service by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 2004.


 
 
Justin Jin-Hyuk CHOI

Mr. Justin Jin-Hyuk Choi holds a M.A. degree from the Graduate School of Yonsei University and a B.A. degree from the Korea National Police University. He also completed a M.A. course study in International Relations at the University of Kent at Canterbury in UK. He is now in the final stage of his doctoral program at Yongin University, majoring in Security. Mr. Choi is a former Police Inspector who has served at the Korean National Police Agency for 11 years since 1987. He worked as the Interpol Regional Contact Officer (responsible for economic and computer crimes), the Intelligence and Liaison Officer of the Korea Presidential Security Service, the Head of Investigation Team and etc. Before joining his current company (NHN Corp.) in 2005, Mr. Choi worked at IBM Korea for 7 years as the Security Program Manager. He successfully completed many security consulting projects and also received several awards from both the Chairman of IBM and the IBM AP Regional Security Director.


 
 
Nicholas CHANTLER, Ph.D

Lecturer of the School of Justice, Queensland University of Technology, Australia

Major Chantler, a former counter-intelligence officer in the Australian Intelligence Corps, continues to maintain his military connections through the Army Reserve. During the last few years he worked alongside Police and Intelligence Agencies in the United Nations (UN); the Office for Security Cooperation in Europe (OSCE); and, the European Union (EU). He was one of the founding members of the Australian Institute for Professional Intelligence Officers (AIPIO). In 1996 his doctorate is on computer hackers, the risks they pose and their psychology. It also included aspects on the security vulnerabilities of information systems; and, as information becomes intelligence, it is a natural progression of further research of how information is utilized within the intelligence communities; and how it is used as Information Warfare. Dr. Chantler has high level of technical skills within ICT; a hands-on technologist, not only experienced in the practical aspects of electronics, computers and telecommunications; but also with the management of large-scale systems. He has provided advice to the Committee on protection of the National Information Infrastructure (NII).
