Virtual Forum Against Cybercrime(VFAC)

Korean Institute of Criminology (KIC) under the auspices of United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has prepared the Virtual Forum against Cybercrime

The main goal of the Virtual Forum Against Cybercrime is to provide a training program for law-enforcement personnel to combat cybercrime and practical information on cybercrime for researchers and the public at large.

The Virtual Forum Against Cybercrime has four objectives: first, to deliver technical assistance; second, to provide training and education; third, to build a network of cybercrime research; and fourth, to act as a clearinghouse of research resources in the field of cybercrime control.

    • Providing guidance on scripts and instructors' evaluation
    • Selecting instructors
    • Evaluating scripts and courses
    • Evaluating pilot project
  2. ICG on Infrastructure
    • Identifying the server capacity and required software
    • Developing e-learning program
    • Video recording design of each course contents
    • User registration and management program
    • Web-design
    • Providing security for servers, including firewalls
    • Providing technical assistance for recording presentations
    • Providing data searching program for clearing house
    • Evaluating pilot project
  3. ICG on Research Network
    • Providing experts list
    • Collecting and selecting information and relevant materials for cybercrime database
    • Identifying research resources to be made available on the forum


E. Secretariat

    • Managing of the pilot project
    • Coordinating training programs
    • Coordinating research network
    • Asset management
    • Contracting instructors
    • Identifying and considering provision of assets if required by recipient countries
    • Surveying information and research materials
    • Fund-raising and budget planning
